Rooted in Justice

Youth Ministry Cohort presented by Flagler College and Arrabon, in partnership with TENX10

Become Rooted in Justice

The Rooted in Justice Cohort is for youth ministry leaders who are committed to the integration of Christian spiritual formation and justice. Through an experiential learning trip to Montgomery, AL and workshop sessions, participants will learn from Arrabon’s principles of reconciliation as a framework for, reconciliation, peacemaking and healing. The next generation is passionate about the work of justice; and churches need the tools to steward their capacity, curiosity, and passion.

The cohort will create an opportunity for leaders to create justice projects contextualized for their communities and churches. They will use Arrabon’s trauma-informed principles of engagement to guide their service projects. The expectation will be that they are able to complete these projects by the end of the year.

What is Experiential Learning?

An Arrabon experiential learning trip guides communities into spaces of disintegration to hold a trauma-informed space framed by our workshop, “Foundation of a Reconciling Community.” The work of racial healing and reconciliation is often impacted by fear, anger, shame, and grief. During this experience, participants process these complex emotions in order to gain confidence in their ability to engage their communities as ambassadors of reconciliation.

Who is the cohort for?

Youth Ministry Leaders committed to empowering the next generation to live into their callings as ambassadors of reconciliation, justice, & healing.

Why Montgomery?

At Arrabon, our desire is for participants to experience an opportunity to lean into the heart of reconciliation with compassionate curiosity. Montgomery, AL features complexities of our nation’s complicated history of oppression and resistance. During our time, we will explore key Civil Rights Era landmarks and The Legacy Sites curated by Equal Justice Initiative. By engaging in this experience, participants will be exposed to the echoes of history into our present moment and be inspired to embody the way of justice, healing, and reconciliation in their context.
